There are many outstanding golf courses less than one hour's drive from the house: some of the courses are set in the impressive grounds of chateaux, others are spectacularly located for maximum impact of the snow-capped Pyreneean mountains. - Chateau de Pallanne - Only 25 minutes from Bonne La Vie is the beautiful medieval village Tillac. Just outside the village is the newest 18-hole golf course in area. Upgraded from 9 holes in the last 18 months by the new owners, the 70 hectares course is par 72, covering 6341 metres. It features the already famous par 5 of 556 metres! The course takes maximum advantage of the natural amphitheatre in which it is set and features trees, flowers and natural water cascades. Open to all, the green fees at Chateau de Pallanne are very reasonable with special prices for young people and seniors. The club house features its own restaurant.
- Golf Lannemazan. - Drive only 40 minutes and you come to the charming market town of Lannemazan in the foothills of the Pyrenees. Lannemezan 18 hole Golf Course is recognised as one of the best in the Midi Pyrénées. At 5808 metres in length with a slope of 128, s.s.s. 71.3, par 70, this course in no pushover!! Set in 40 hectares, level terrain, all the fairways are lined with magnificent mature trees and, from the southern end of the course, there are stunning views of the Pyrenees. The course is open throughout the year. South facing driving range:Play from grass or mats (6 covered, 12 exterior). Putting green and grass bunker in front of the club house. Green fees are moderate. Attached to the Club House is the “Pre Vert” restaurant,a favourite with the locals because of its cuisine and the delightful view from the terrace.
- Lourdes (55 minutes drive). Designed in 1998, the Lourdes golf course is situated on the south side of the Lourdes Lake in a superb setting amidst pine forests, overlooking the limpid waters of a glacial lake and against the backcloth of the Pyrenees majestically imposing their powerful tranquility. The 18-hole, par 71 and 5,600-m long course is pleasantly undulating and ideal for a sporting round. Mobile caddies are available for hire. All golfing activities and services are covered including an 18-station, split-level covered drive-off practice range, putting green, presence of a professional golfer available. The Club House features a restaurant. There is a superb terrace with panoramic view over the course, the Pyrenees and the lake. For non-golfers and those accompanying, there are walks around the lake on marked paths or water leisure activities.
- Golf Auch Embats - The ancient capital of Gascony, Auch, is about 55 minutes north from Bonne La Vie and well worth a visit in its own right. Golf Embats is an 18 hole golf course, 4635m, Par 67, Slope 120, Open 7 days a week. This golf course embraces the undulations of 5 small valleys, even if not too taxing, some strokes require thought and dexterity. A place where you will be in communion with the charm of the Gascony. The elevated Club house offers a unique view on the golf course and in the background the blue line of the Pyrenees. Services : Practice, buggy and trolley rental. Restaurant: on premises, traditional cooking, special golfing menu.
